After a great deal of anticipation, FSC INStream was released mid-July to thousands of awaiting agencies throughout California. The free commercial auto quoting and submission tool allows users to input client information one time and send the information to multiple carrier websites to complete the quote.

By now you’ve probably heard how creating a web site or using social media can help increase visibility and generate leads for your agency. The ACT web site is filled with resources highlighting how to use these tools effectively. But there's one tool you may not have heard about even though it's a fast, easy way to reach thousands of people in your local area who are shopping for insurance right now. And, it’s free.

Is your web site starting to look so last century? When was the last time you posted new content on your website?Does it have a date last updated on the bottom that says you have ignored it since 2007? Or longer?

Even if you aren’t Amazon.com or Zappos.com, your customers and potential customers are probably finding you more often by Googling you than looking you up in a phone book, if they still have phone books. Try looking your business up on Google, Bing, and/or Yahoo. Does it appear in the first page of results?

The ongoing economical disaster in the Gulf Coast serves as a reminder that we need to do more as a company to “go green” and help improve the environment. While we have already implemented several green initiatives internally including introducing recycling bins, encouraging carpools, and investing in energy saving computers and printers, we know we can still do more to give Mother Nature a much needed leg up.
